Writers Horoscope for October 31: You’re in a talkative mood today.

And why not?

You can still get your writing done.

Get adventurous with the dictation tools in Microsoft Word and Google Docs. [See the video below.]

Suggestion: Make a brief outline ahead of time of what you want to say/write, but you can always pause the dictation if you need to collect your thoughts.

Writers Horoscope for October 30: Today you maintain momentum.

Yesterday’s trademark was relentlessness.
That was yesterday.
Day 2 of a turnaround is often pivotal.
How to keep going?
A few tips:
—Tell the voices of doubt to put a sock in it.
—Generate and keep nearby (digitally or on your person) a list of ‘live’ topics that beg you to engage.
—Carry a notebook. Leonardo da Vinci kept one, so you’ll be in fairly notable company.
—How about mastering dictation on your device? Leonardo would have gone nuts with voice input.

Buddying up is always a good strategy to keep your momentum.

A few more tips…

Writers Horoscope for October 29: Today, you ‘rock’ your relentlessness.

Oh sure, you run the risk of rocking a little too far…

But think of that brief thrill of the climb, and even the sudden descent.

There are lessons in both.

Writers Horoscope for October 28: Today, you’re still haunted.

Hangup for the day: “Who wants to read about my life?

Consider this: Don’t think your life.

Think small. Think moments.

Find your ‘spin’, your slant–in your voice.

And go!

If these moments resonated with you, they will hit home with others.

Writers Horoscope for October 27: You’re not immune to writer’s hangups.

Today’s fixation: “It’s already been written.”

Yes, the same subject has been covered.

But how can you know book/post/ won’t reflect your own perspective if you haven’t actually written the piece?

Until you commit to the project, you can’t predict what direction, emphasis, or format you might explore.

So, yes, it’s ‘first draft’ time.

Ready, go!

Writers Horoscope for October 26: Intuition wins out.

Bravo. You actually followed your gut. [No, not to the fridge–well, not immediately.]

Instead, you raided your bookshelf.

You put down your pen and put up your feet.

It was time for a cozy dog mystery, a creativity daily devotional, and Charlotte’s Web.

You read for yourself.

You recaptured your inspiration and relished in the wordplay, the plot twists, and the comforting conclusions.

There is something to be said about not writing…

Whether it’s prep for National Novel Writing Month or taking a team approach to knock off ‘Finish This Damnable Project!’ list items, order up some pizza, Cheeto’s, and wet wipes. Beverages? Keep ’em straight. You want to be able to find your keyboard, after all.

That’s the fuel for Round 1.

And the payoff for persistence?

And there may be even *greater* rewards for that extra-extra effort.
